Misty Alaskan Elopement with Styled Mini Reception

Updated: Dec 1, 2020

Nikki and Shane wanted to elope to Alaska, but they didn't necessarily want the same simple ceremony that so many people come to us for.

They wanted the beautiful photographs, and the intimate ceremony, but still wanted just a little something more. A little bit of style and some small wedding traditions.

Yes! I am your girl!

I love it when I get the chance to style beautiful table settings in the wilds of Alaska. I think it gives couples the space to fully enjoy their moment when it is set in nature, and they are alone to toast to love and share their wedding cake just the two of them.

We started with the first look out in Moose Meadows. It was a misty day, not quite raining. I like these days, it gives our mountainous Alaskan terrain a soft romantic feel.

Nikki wanted her wedding flowers to have fall colors of burgundy, orange and blue with hints of feathers. I absolutely loved the grasses that Natasha from Paper Peony incorporated. Her bouquet and head piece were some of my favorite this season.

Our couple had a beautiful ceremony, which was led through the God Knot, also known as the Cord of Three Strands.  This is a beautiful symbol for couples who welcome God at the center of their relationship. It is a wonderful reminder that God's love continues throughout their relationship to bind them together.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 reads, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend

themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a beautiful and rustic little mini wedding cake for two created by Scott Fausz, the executive pastry chef at Alyeska Resort.  Scott handmade little pine cones from chocolate and nuts.

It was an apple spice cake with cinnamon buttercream... and yes! You should order that flavor combination. It is to DIE FOR!

After cake and toasting to their love, they were off with the the ever talented Hannah with Relic Photographic adventuring over hills and brambles, up mountains, and along the crashing ocean.  Hannah truly captured some beautiful images.

MEET REBECCA

Hey there! I am Rebecca Kopperud, a born and bred Alaskan, as well as the owner and chief designer behind La Boum Events.

Are you thinking about eloping? Good! I think eloping is incredibly romantic and brave. It is throwing out the rule book, and putting the focus back on the two of you, where it belongs. Eloping is a movement that has been growing over the past few years. For many, it is a decision that corrects a host of issues presented by the wedding industry, and allows for a genuine celebration of a big life moment. As a wedding planner I don’t want to be a part of the problem, I want to be a part of the solution. And I want to support you.

I have been in business offering unique elopements in Alaska for years, long before it became popular. We have developed sought after industry connections, and a quality of service that is unsurpassed. You simply won’t find a one-size-fits-all elopement here. Everything truly is about you, and your special day.

We take on a limited amount of clients, so we can focus on personalization and quality. We offer a completely unique, unbundled experience so you can have exactly what you want and nothing you don’t. There is nothing cookie-cutter about what we do.

Does this resonate with you? To learn more about what it is like to work with us, fill out our inquiry form for a COUPLES ONLY ELOPEMENT for pricing and service details.
