Katie and Connor went to high school together and started dating in sophomore year. They have been together for ten years. Not in any rush to get married, they always knew that some day they would. The two of them didn’t want a big wedding and weren’t into the idea of doing something traditional just for the sake of traditions.
Their vision of the perfect wedding day consisted of the two of them getting ready together. Which is just what they did at the Hatcher Pass B&B. Katie did her own hair and make up and she surprised Connor with a pair of socks she knitted for him to wear on their wedding day. They even matched his boutonniere. He loved them!
Katie described Connor as more gregarious and her more of a simple, sensible, introvert.
They have a dog-named Miller who they love to walk together. They also enjoy spending time at their local coffee shop, bird watching, appreciating nature and watching television together. He even helped her shop for her wedding dress.
Their short and sweet ceremony was officiated by Celtic Ministries at Summit Lake in Hatcher Pass. Then they toasted to their love and headed out hiking around Hatcher Pass together, enjoying the incredible mountain views all around the area.
Congratulations to Conner and Katie. We love your wanderlust spirits and wish you every happiness!

MEET REBECCA
Hey there! I am Rebecca Kopperud, a born and bred Alaskan, as well as the owner and chief designer behind La Boum Events.
Are you thinking about eloping? Good! I think eloping is incredibly romantic and brave. It is throwing out the rule book, and putting the focus back on the two of you, where it belongs. Eloping is a movement that has been growing over the past few years. For many, it is a decision that corrects a host of issues presented by the wedding industry, and allows for a genuine celebration of a big life moment. As a wedding planner I don’t want to be a part of the problem, I want to be a part of the solution. And I want to support you.
I have been in business offering unique elopements in Alaska for years, long before it became popular. We have developed sought after industry connections, and a quality of service that is unsurpassed. You simply won’t find a one-size-fits-all elopement here. Everything truly is about you, and your special day.
We take on a limited amount of clients, so we can focus on personalization and quality. We offer a completely unique, unbundled experience so you can have exactly what you want and nothing you don’t. There is nothing cookie-cutter about what we do.
Does this resonate with you? To learn more about what it is like to work with us, fill out our inquiry form for COUPLES ONLY ELOPEMENT to get started.
